November Spawned a Moz Show

Timed to celebrate the return of Manchester music icon and lead singer of the seminal band The Smiths to San Antonio, this November Presa House Gallery presents November Spawned a Moz Show. Arguably the most influential British band of the late 20th century and one of the biggest cult bands of all time, the influence and relevance of The Smiths and Morrissey continues to grow across the generational divide. Musicians, artists, and designers alike have long found inspiration in their music and the visual nature of their witty, vulnerable, and tragic lyrics. The exhibition curators bring us a compilation of 31 artists from all disciplines who are themselves die-hard fans, including artists from Denton, TX, and California. Showcasing an eclectic and multi-generational group of admirers includes Jenn Alva, bassist of Girl in a Coma who pulled their name from The Smiths’ Girlfriend in a Coma, artist/writer and musician Hills Snyder, and professional skateboarder Alphonzo Rawls. The exhibit is sure to be jam-packed with a heavy presence of homages, text-based art, inner awakenings (and retreats), as well as bedsit doom and gloom to go with your two lumps, please.
