Presa House Gallery particapated in UTSA Football Fan Day on Saturday, Aug. 25th at the Alamodome. A collaboration between UTSA Athletics, the Alamodome, the City of San Antonio, the Tricentennial Commission and Centro San Antonio, UTSA Football Fan Day featured a taste of a UTSA game day experience. This event featured family-friendly activities on the H-E-B Plaza.

Muralist Adriana Garcia invites guests to take part in an UTSA inspired interactive mural painting. This is your chance to express yourself and just have fun with paint while supporting your UTSA Roadrunners!

Adriana M. Garcia, is a Texas based visual artist, muralist, scenic designer and illustrator born and raised in the west side of San Antonio, TX. She received her BFA from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA., and studied fine arts in Valencia, Spain. Garcia has exhibited her work locally and nationally and has participated in a number of public art and community mural projects throughout Texas. Garcia’s most recent projects include her 50’x 8’ San Pedro Creek improvement project mural, From All Roads, We Are One, and illustrations created for the children’s book All Around Us, written by author Xelena Gonzalez, and funded through a grant from the National Association of Latino Arts and Culture (NALAC). Artist John Medina invites you to print your very own UTSA Football inspired linocut print postcard! You pick your favorite design & color, and John will help you create your own one-of-a-kind UTSA Fan Day keep sake!

Artist, designer, and art-instructor John Medina was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas. He received his BFA from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and his MFA from Northern Illinois University in Dekalb, Illinois. Medina has exhibited his work both nationally and internationally, most recently his exhibition The Sunset Belongs to US opened at ArtPace in January of 2018. One of Medina’s best-known public works was a collaboration with San Anto Cultural Arts where Medina created the world’s first stereoscopic 3-D mural entitled, Vision del Futuro. Located in downtown San Antonio, this large-scale mural project, funded by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), features an innovative painting technique that is enhanced by the use of 3-D glasses. UTSA Alum Alex Vargas’ mobile on-site screen printing invites you to become part of the experience as Alex screen prints right before your eyes. When you’re done grab some fabric color markers and customize your UTSA Fan Day Tote Bag!

Alex Vargas is a San Antonio based screen printer who currently owns and operates Vargas Custom Designs out of the studios at 1906 S. Flores. A graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio, Vargas has been in the screen printing business since 2016. Recently Vargas has partnered with artist and master printer Shek Vega, and Johnathan Rebolloso to form Barrio Dudes,
San Antonio’s newest print studio specializing in fine art serigraph prints and limited edition artist run merchandise. In addition to his studio practice, Vargas has branched out to do live screen printing for local events including this years San Antonio Flavor hosted by the San Antonio Current at the San Antonio Museum.
