Only Dust Knows What’s Left Behind gathers work by artists who once called the “Flower Shop Art Residency” home. Between October 2024-May 2025, while living and creating in Brownsville, Texas, time was measured in the quiet settling of dust. Collecting the whispered and forgotten moments that bind us all together, dust moves through landscape, worn paths, and accumulates in the studio corners of the Flower Shop. It is a silent witness; a keeper of memory, of transformation, and holds traces of places both left and returned to. The stories left behind are folded into this exhibition which features a wide array of themes and topics, but invites viewers to look closely at the faint outlines of our shared experiences highlighted through works spanning installation, sculpture, ceramics, textile, painting, printmaking, drawing, photography and poetry.

Flower Shop Art Residency is a program of Frontera Arts in Bloom, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. It’s through your support that we are able to bring artists together, have important conversations through art, and show the beauty of our border town community.
